On November 8th, Alltrust Credit Union celebrated its 100th anniversary. Alltrust Credit Union, formerly known as Southern Massachusetts Telephone Workers Credit Union and Southern Massachusetts Credit Union, was started on November 8, 1922. Since then, the member-owned credit union has grown to over 330 million dollars in assets and serving more than 13,000 throughout six counties in Massachusetts and the whole state of Rhode Island. In 2021, the name change from Southern Massachusetts Credit Union to Alltrust Credit Union was made to better express the service and values the credit union practices. Throughout these changes, Alltrust Credit Union’s focus has remained on their members, providing them a successful financial journey.
“We would not be here if it weren’t for the dedication our members have, the leadership our board members hold, and the determination our staff shows,” stated Carmen Sylvester, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our work does not stop today. We will continue to be a trustworthy credit union and financial partner for our members.”
On Thursday, November 10th, Alltrust was presented a celebratory plaque by Ron McLean, President and CEO of the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA). This plaque is in recognition of the 100 years of service in the community Alltrust Credit Union serves. The CCUA advocates member-owned credit union at the state and federal level.
