CARMEN F. SYLVESTER, ALLTRUST CREDIT UNION’S PRESIDENT AND CEO, RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM BRYANT UNIVERSITY

Alltrust Credit Union is pleased to announce that their President and CEO, Carmen F. Sylvester, has received an Honorary Doctorate from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI.

Sylvester, who joined Alltrust in August of 2017, was nominated to receive this honorary doctorate for her 30 years of service in the financial services industry. The nomination spotlighted the type of culture she fosters at Alltrust, her strong leadership capabilities, and the strides she has taken to make Alltrust a financially strong and well-respected Credit Union. Sylvester has established a culture of ensuring the staff know that the Credit Union’s greatest asset is its members and employees and is continuingly developing a culture of friendly member-centric service. She promotes a culture of transparency with employees by sharing Credit Union’s financials and presentations to discuss plans and upcoming projects. It is important for Sylvester to communicate with the entire staff and for the employees to be able to ask questions and offer insight on their thoughts on the decisions.

The growth and changes the Credit Union has experienced during Sylvester’s leadership demonstrates her strong financial background, her ability to build a culture inspiring confidence and knowledge with the staff and recognizes the importance of communications with members and employees. Sylvester encourages all employees to be involved as she cultivates an environment of moving forward together so everyone can be proud of their accomplishments as a team.

Sylvester, a resident of Swansea, Mass., earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Human Resources certification both from Bryant University and holds the designation of Professional Human Resources (PHR). She also studied at the at the University of Colorado Financial Management School and at Rockhurst University National Seminars. In 2020, Sylvester was one of the recipients of the New England Women in Banking Award.
